The dates for the 2019 Kayak Fishing Trail have officially been announced! That is to say five dates have been announced, the last couple tournament dates have not had their licenses approved but I am sure will be announced soon. So with that in mind its time to start booking those summer holidays! Check out the Eastslope Classic page for the latest information on each stop of the Trail as well as information for the main event, the Eastslope Kayak Fishing Classic.
For entry and the most up to date rules check out the Eastslope Classic website:

The entry fees for each derby are:
Trout on the Fly – $40 – Payable at the derby
Sucker Derby – $40 – Payable at the derby
Battle on Buffalo – $40 – Payable at the derby
River Runs Through – $40 – Payable at the derby
Eastslope – $75 – Payable online, etransfer or at derby.
In addition to the Alberta Trail stops Nootka Marine and Sound in B.C. host a kayak fishing derby on September 1st and 2nd. Although I have not been to the tournament the pictures look amazing! So if you are interested in getting towed around by salmon check them out:

I am getting really excited for the upcoming kayak fishing season! The sport has really taken off in the province and attendance will only be going up. There will be a lot of prizes at the Classic and prize money up for grabs at each trail stop. At the end of the season typically the angler with the most points wins a fantastic prize as well. It is shaping up to be an exciting year.
