The 2019 Edmonton Boat and Sportsmen show has wrapped up once again. I enjoy attending the show every year because it’s a great chance to check out the latest and greatest gear, find some killer deals on new toys and since everyone is in one place it is an opportunity to network with people in the industry.
The Fishing Hole’s annual spring sale was on and they had a huge area filled with lots of gear with great sale prices. There was also pro staff on hand from everyone like Shimano, Quantum, Rapala to answer any questions you may have had. I ran into Sean Konrad from the Fishing Geeks and we had a great chat about the show and local fishing.
The three main kayak stores were also well represented:
I wanted to drool over the new 2019 Hobie Outback but unfortunately Glenmore Sailboats has not received their shipment yet.
I would like to thank Willie Holmes with Loop Tackle and Reid’s Fly Shop for spending so much time with me showing me the new Q Series rods and reels from Loop and helping me work on my fly casting. We spent over an hour together just talking rods, reels, casting techniques and fishing for pike on the fly.
Overall, I had a great time, like I do every year.
