Aquabatics is having a demo day this Sunday at Riel park, St. Albert! A demo day is how I discovered kayak fishing in the first place. Years ago I went to a MEC demo day called Paddlefest. Until this point I had been fishing from shore or out of a borrowed canoe and went to a demo day to try a few different canoes in order to buy my own.
After my canoe demo I had a bit of time and decided to see what else I could try out. A couple of different kayaks caught my eye, including some designed specifically for fishing. After touring around in a few I was able to narrow down different lengths, hull shapes and features I wanted, which I never would have been able to do anywhere else.
If it wasn’t for a demo day I would not have discovered kayak fishing or been able to find a kayak I liked as much as my Ocean Kayak Trident 13. Take advantage of this opportunity and go try out a couple different boats!
